Resumo
Nosso grupo tem se dedicado ao desenvolvimento de instrumentação analítica e de métodos computacionais aplicados à Química Analítica, o que tem sido possível graças às competências reunidas nas áreas de química, matemática, eletrônica e computação. Os temas trabalhados nos últimos anos são:
1. Desenvolvimento de instrumentação para eletroforese capilar – sistemas de detecção condutométrico sem contato e amperométrico, fontes de alta tensão para dispositivos microfluídicos, sistemas com eletrólise separada, sistemas de aquisição de dados.
2. Eletroforese capilar com detecção condutométrica sem contato aplica às áreas de alimentos, combustíveis e química do meio ambiente.
3. Micro Sistemas de Análise Total (micro-TAS ou Lab-on-a-chip) – processos de fabricação baseados em tecnologia toner-poliéster e toner-vidro, construção de dispositivos para eletroforese e electrospray e instrumentação associada.
4. Técnicas de simulação computacional voltadas para dispositivos microfluídicos.
Summary
Development and Application of Analytical Instrumentation
Our group has developed analytical instrumentation as well as computational methods applied to Analytical Chemistry, which has been possible thanks to our skills in chemistry, mathematics, electronics, and computation. Some works developed in the last years are:
1. Development of instrumentation for capillary electrophoresis – amperometric and contactless conductivity detection systems, high voltage sources for microfluidic devices, separated electrolysis system, data acquisition system.
2. Contactless conductivity detection capillary electrophoresis applied to analysis of foods, beverages, fuels, and environmental samples.
3. Micro Total Analysis System (micro-TAS or Lab-on-a-chip) – fabrication processes based on toner-polyester and toner-glass technologies, devices for electrophoresis and electrospray, and associated instrumentation.
4. Computational simulation techniques for microfluidics.
Projects
3D-printed cartridge: A cartridge developed to improve the interface between a capillary electrophoresis instrument and a mass spectrometer (Project developed with Kelliton J. M. Francisco).
Capacitively Coupled Contactless Conductivity Detector - openC4D: The openC4D is the smallest and robustest Capacitively Coupled Contactless Conductivity Detector to be used with capillary electrophoresis and HPLC (Project developed with Kelliton J. M. Francisco).
Serine Protocol: A light communication protocol intended to be used by small microcontrollers.
Serine Identification Service: A registration service for virtual devices using Serine Protocol.
