Students can be accepted based on GRE test scores or approval in the general biochemistry and molecular biology admission test offered biannually onsite.
GRE Test
Admissions in the Graduate Program in Biochemistry can be granted upon presentation of GRE General Test or Subject Test in Biology certificates indicating a percentile rank score above 60%. GRE results should be sent to the Coordinator of the Graduate Program (emreis@iq.usp.br) anytime year-round.
Admission Test
Alternatively admission in the Graduate Program in Biochemistry is based on a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Admission Test, which is offered twice a year onsite. This test may be offered in English upon request.
The next admission test is scheduled for February 06, 2022. Registration will be open from October 03, 2023 to January 14, 2024.
The admission test evaluates base concepts on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. No memorization of structures and constants is required. Focus should be on the integration and regulation of metabolic pathways. Recommended references are general textbooks of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (e.g. "Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry" by David L. Nelson and Michael M. Cox; "Biochemistry" by Lubert Styer, Jeremy Berg and John L. Tymoczko; "Bioquímica Básica" by Marzzoco and Torres.
